Business Comic Strips and Characters

Business Comic Strips and original comic characters created specifically for a product or campaign are a fantastic way to gain the interest of the viewer and bring your message across in a fun and likeable way.

Often these characters can be used as standalone ambassadors for your product or company in print or even on products or packaging. Appealing and likeable comics give you something to relate to and maximise engagement. The style of the artwork and story of the comic strips can vary greatly. The comic strips, still images and characters can also appear in a full multimedia campaign in motion graphics or animated videos or explainer videos which can be produced at the same time.

Below a gallery with many samples and two examples of animated business illustration applications.

Drawing Videos

I am frequently called upon to create drawings for presentations and explainer videos or advertising videos or education videos.

My style of drawing videos and explainer videos differs from the vast majority of video productions because they are actual drawings which unfold, drawn by an actual artist who knows how to draw. The appearance can vary in different illustration styles, we can use color, we can use painterly brush strokes, pen, or pencil sketches. It is an actual work of art unfolding. The intrigue also lies in what unfolds first and what unfolds next.

Top Source – Wine Label Design

Wine label and logo design for two exciting new Washington state wines from TOP SOURCE©. One is a Walla Walla Valley Syrah and the other a Columbia Valley red wine. I had the pleasure of tasting both of them, and they are just gorgeous.

Fun fact: With just over 1,000 wineries, 400+ grape growers, and 60,000+ acres of wine grapes, Washington State is the 2nd largest wine producing state in the U.S.

Kakemonos / Commercial Banner Illustration

I am frequently consulted by my clients to assist with marketing and advertising projects, with concepts and ideas, layouts and graphic design suggestions as well as of course drawings and illustration elements.

The client required three different large-scale Kakémono display banners (2.10 meters x 0.85 meters) as portable rollup banners for three different areas of their activity: training, the association itself and the universities organised by AN2V.

Animated Holiday Card with Company Logo

A really fun project was this animated Holday Greeting card to be sent to the customers of my commissioning client.

The briefing required a nice, hand-drawn cozy looking winter scene. We opted for an inviting winter chalet in the woods surrounded by snow covered trees and featuring the AN2V logo.

The drawing is rendered as a timelapse video. Watch the drawing unfold, a lovely winter forest scene, a chalet with warm light spilling out onto the snow, and then the company logo is drawn, illuminated by the warm glow. A gorgeous, warm and elegant holiday card solution.

The video was also delivered as an animated GIF so that it could be used and viewed in e-mails directly on all devices.
