My Behance Portfolio — Illustration, Cartoons, Mascots & Visual Storytelling
Alongside this website, I maintain a selection of projects on Behance, Adobe’s creative portfolio platform. It offers a quick external overview of my work across illustration, editorial cartoons, character and mascot design, branding, comics and animated visual communication.
My main portfolio and project archive remain here on marsdenillustration.com; Behance is a complementary place to browse selected work in a familiar creative-industry format.

A secondary portfolio for selected projects
I do not use Behance as a replacement for my own website. The two serve different purposes.
Here on marsdenillustration.com, projects can be presented in depth, connected to case studies and related services, and placed within the wider context of my work.
Behance provides a more condensed visual overview. For art directors, designers and other creative professionals already using the platform, it can be a convenient way to browse several areas of my work quickly.
A broad view of my illustration services
The projects collected there reflect the range of disciplines I work across rather than one narrow illustration style.
- commissioned illustration for companies and campaigns
- editorial illustration and cartoons
- business comics and sequential storytelling
- character and mascot design
- logo and identity work
- graphic design and creative direction
- illustrated explainer videos and animation
- book and publishing illustration
Some projects combine several of these disciplines, particularly when illustration forms part of a wider communication system rather than existing as a standalone image.
Illustration & animated visual storytelling
One section of the Behance portfolio collects examples of drawing processes, storyboard-based communication and illustrated video work.
These projects range from hand-drawn explainer films to timelapse illustration and animated visual sequences for companies and organisations.
Illustrateur & graphiste en France
Another Behance collection brings together work connected to my activity in France, including illustration, graphic design and visual communication produced from my studio near Montpellier.
The projects may be local or international; the common thread is the combination of drawing, design and visual storytelling within commissioned work.
Cartoons, satire & visual ideas
Cartooning runs through both my editorial and commissioned work — from single-panel satire and caricature to business comics and character-led communication.
The Behance cartoon portfolio provides a compact selection of this work across editorial, cultural and commercial contexts.
Logos, mascots & character design
Characters often sit somewhere between illustration and identity design.
I develop mascots and character systems for organisations, products, campaigns and events, with attention to how the character needs to function across print, digital media and, where required, animation.
Editorial illustration
My editorial work ranges from conceptual illustration and cartoons to character-driven images, publishing projects and longer narrative pieces.
The Behance collection provides another way to browse selected magazine, newspaper and editorial work without navigating the larger archive on this site.
Long-form visual storytelling — MARVIN
The Behance portfolio also includes MARVIN — Based on the Way I Was, my graphic-novel project based on the life and memoir of composer Marvin Hamlisch.
It represents the longer-form end of my work: sequential storytelling, character continuity, historical reference, page composition and the relationship between text and image across an extended narrative.
Drawing, design & digital production
My workflow varies according to the project rather than being tied to one piece of software.
I work with tools including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects and Clip Studio Paint, alongside direct drawing on a Wacom Cintiq.
Some projects are primarily hand-drawn illustration. Others require vector production, motion, page design, character systems or a combination of several disciplines.
