Hand-Drawn Holiday Animation – Timelapse Christmas Card by Ian David Marsden
Creative Project · December 2023 · Location: Claret (Occitanie, France)

This festive project was my personal holiday card for 2023 — a fully hand-illustrated timelapse video combining storytelling, character design, and animated drawing techniques. Featuring Santa Claus, the Grinch, and a bottle of regional Pic Saint-Loup wine, this piece reflects the charm and humor that I enjoy bringing to custom explainer videos and illustrated holiday campaigns.
The drawing was created by hand using a Wacom Cintiq and animated as a timelapse sequence. All visuals were produced in Adobe Illustrator with a focus on line clarity, storytelling rhythm, and character expression. As a special twist, I even recorded my own rendition of “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” to accompany the video.

This project highlights my ability to deliver handcrafted animation sequences for seasonal campaigns, client greetings, social media marketing, and professional explainer videos. Whether for corporate holiday messages or personalized e-cards, the same care and creativity applies.
Tools & Workflow:
• Timelapse illustration
• Wacom Cintiq
• Adobe Illustrator (vector art)
• Hand-drawn animation and voice-over integration
Bonus: If you enjoyed the singing in the video and didn’t know that I’m also a hobby crooner, feel free to visit my SoundCloud page:

It’s a fun side project where I record and share classic tunes like “Love Me Tender” and “Something in the Way She Moves.”
