Live illustration — also known as graphic recording, scribing, or visual facilitation — is the real-time creation of drawings during events, presentations, or video calls. It transforms spoken content into clear, engaging visuals as it happens, helping audiences stay focused, retain key messages, and feel more connected to the experience.
Whether shown live on a projector or shared digitally afterwards, these drawings offer both entertainment and insight — and become valuable content assets beyond the event itself.
Live Illustration (On-Site)
Definition:
Live digital drawing during your event using an iPad Pro. The illustration is projected or streamed in real time as it develops. Alternatively, traditional media (flipcharts, whiteboards, markers) can be used on-site upon request.
Applications: Product launches, keynotes, conferences, internal workshops, and corporate events.
Workflow:
- Pre-event briefing: Objectives, tone, topics
- Storyboard preparation: Layered visuals prepared in advance and approved
- Technical setup: HDMI (preferred) or AirPlay connection
- Live execution: Drawn on iPad Pro and projected in real time
Requirements: Long HDMI cable, stable Wi-Fi (if using AirPlay), power, and rehearsal slot recommended.
Remote Scribing (Live via Zoom/Visio)
For remote sessions, I provide real-time scribing from my studio using a Wacom Cintiq 27QHD Touch or iPad Pro. You’ll see the drawing unfold via screenshare, ideal for hybrid events, webinars, or online strategy meetings.
Used for: Remote team meetings, digital summits, design sprints, client workshops.
Benefits: Visual clarity, increased engagement, and memorable content that can be reused internally or externally.
Optional Deliverables
- Timelapse videos: Full-length (~3 min) and short (~30 sec) MP4s, optionally branded
- Print-ready exports: 300 dpi files (PDF, PNG, PSD) up to A2 size
Note: Event-use rights are included. Additional licensing applies for broader commercial use such as campaigns or media distribution.
