How I work with comics and sequential storytelling
Editorial cartooning and comic strips
I have drawn editorial cartoons, newspaper comics and comic strips for many years, including work for magazines, newspapers and syndicated contexts. This side of my practice is rooted in timing, observation, character and economy: saying something clearly in very little space.
That experience continues to shape everything else I do in sequential work. It helps when a client needs images that explain quickly, land clearly and hold attention without becoming overcomplicated.
Graphic novels and author work
I am also a graphic novel author, working as both writer and artist. In longer-form narrative projects I focus on pacing, emotional clarity, character acting, visual rhythm and the relationship between text and image across multiple pages.
This author side of the work sits naturally alongside editorial cartooning and commissioned comics. It brings a stronger sense of structure and narrative continuity to projects that need more than a single gag or spot illustration.
Custom comics for business, NGOs and campaigns
I create custom business comics, explainer comics, onboarding sequences, awareness campaigns and character-based communication for organisations that need messages to be understood quickly and remembered easily.
These projects are often used in HR onboarding, safety communication, internal culture work, public information, posters, print campaigns and video or motion-based adaptation. Where useful, I design them to work across languages, including wordless or low-text storytelling that can travel well between markets and audiences.
Selected applications

- Dräger infection prevention visuals — training-oriented sequential communication for global health and safety contexts.
- SUSTAIN-D awareness comics — wordless public-interest sequences for energy and behaviour change in multilingual housing contexts.
- Coca-Cola recycling campaign — language-independent comic strips printed directly on cans to promote recycling awareness.
- seele safety communication — illustrated sequences and campaign-style visuals for handling and workplace communication.

Clients and publishing contexts include Mercedes-Benz, Coca-Cola, Dräger, SUSTAIN-D, Henkel, The New Yorker, MAD Magazine, Nebelspalter, NZZ am Sonntag and Schiffer Publishing. A broader overview is available on my clients & creative partners page.
