New artwork in my sketchbook gallery
I just uploaded a selection of recent sketches and pen and ink artwork to my sketchbook gallery.
I hope you enjoy them. These are all created with pen and ink, ballpoint pen, pencils and other traditional methods. I do sometimes scan them and color them in photoshop, but most of these are also colored with watercolor, ecoline and aquarelle / goache.
These are all just fun, free drawings that I like to do sometimes to relax and clear my mind. These were not commissioned. Often I don’t even know what it will be when I start drawing.
I guess since I am working in digital art programs with my Wacom Cintiq most of the time, these little exercises also s to show myself that I still know how to do it “old-school”. 😊
Please don’t forget that I also have an Instagram channel which I update almost daily with new doodles, sketches and drawing videos.Read more →
I recently opened my own instagram art feed with hundreds of my illustrations and cartoons. I am delighted that in a few short weeks it has already gathered almost 800 followers.
I try to update it on a regular basis and I also include spontaneous sketches and doodles and other fun stuff from my studio. So if you like drawing, sketching and doodling then this feed might be for you.

Original Ian David Marsden cartoon art gallery is now open.
Welcome to the Ian Marsden original art gallery and on-line shop!
A new section of my website has just opened up. It’s a little shop where collectors and fans of original cartoon art can purchase select pieces from my own personal archives and collections.
Many of them have been published and some are over 20 years old, so it’s a bit of a walk down memory lane and there is a lot of fun stuff to see.
These originals look great framed in private homes, offices or even waiting rooms or other areas where walls can use some serious heightening of the “interesting factor”.
They also make WONDERFUL GIFT IDEAS. (Hint, hint.)
I would be delighted to add a personal dedication or custom sentence to the bottom of any piece.
Please let me know via e-mail when you purchase a drawing.
Also I will be adding more pieces, so keep checking back from time to time.
There are some classic pieces on display, such as the very first google doodles EVER.
Even if you are not looking to purchase any art, I hope you enjoy your visit to the gallery.
All the best,
Ian MarsdenRead more →
